K3K Investigations is a UK private investigation agency that designs, builds and operates its own investigative technology. Three systems sit behind our casework: K3K Intelligence, our operations platform for live mapping, lawful tracking deployments and evidence handling; the K3K OSINT Console, an open-source intelligence workbench our engineers built for identity, infrastructure and geospatial research; and a live global monitoring desk that fuses aircraft, shipping, satellite and traffic-camera feeds onto a single 3D globe. All of it runs on servers we control.

We believe no other independent UK investigation agency builds and runs this much of its own technology. That is not a boast about software for its own sake. It is the reason our cases move faster, our evidence survives scrutiny, and your data never sits in a third-party product we do not control.

K3K Intelligence (operations platform)

The operations platform behind every K3K deployment: live operational mapping, lawfully deployed GPS trackers, geofenced alerts and timestamped movement histories, with evidence handling built in.

K3K Intelligence began as an internal answer to a problem every agency has: rented tracking and case tools that were never designed for evidence. Our engineers built a platform that ingests positions directly from the tracking hardware we deploy, decoding several tracker protocols natively rather than through a vendor's consumer app, and shows an operations map that our surveillance teams, and clients where the case allows, can watch live.

Because evidence was the point, the platform keeps every raw position packet exactly as the device sent it alongside the decoded record, so a movement history can be re-verified from source months later. Devices authenticate against a registered allow-list, unexpected packets are logged as anomalies rather than silently accepted, and the whole intake is hardened against the constant background noise of the open internet.

The platform now exists as a product in its own right through K3K Intelligence, our technology company, which supplies tracking and operations capability to fleets and other organisations. Investigations clients get the same system, run by the people who built it.

K3K OSINT Console (open-source intelligence)

An open-source intelligence workbench built by our own engineers: identity and username research, email, phone and domain analysis, company records, image metadata and a geospatial area-mapping desk, with every query logged to the case file.

Open-source intelligence is where most modern investigations begin, and off-the-shelf OSINT tools are built for hobbyists or for governments, rarely for an evidence-led agency. So we built our own. The console runs identity sweeps across a wide set of platforms, analyses email addresses, phone numbers and domains, pulls Companies House records into a case, reads the metadata hidden in images, and keeps a library of prepared searches that turn an hour of manual work into minutes.

Its area-mapping desk is the part clients find hardest to believe. Draw a box on a map and the console assembles what is publicly known about that square of ground: public CCTV positions, telephone masts, cell towers, public Wi-Fi networks, street cabinets and internet-exposed devices, with a live overlay of aircraft overhead and the ability to identify an aircraft's operator and route. For surveillance planning, incident reconstruction and counter-surveillance reviews it replaces a day of reconnaissance with a screen.

Every search the console runs is written to an append-only audit log against the case, with the operator's name attached. When we say evidence has a chain of custody, this is part of what we mean: not a claim, a record.

Global monitoring desk (live world picture)

A live three-dimensional globe fusing aircraft, shipping, satellite, earthquake, road-traffic and public traffic-camera feeds, including around a thousand public camera positions across London and beyond.

For cross-border and time-critical work we run a global monitoring desk: photorealistic 3D terrain with live aircraft, vessels and satellites, live road traffic, and around a thousand public traffic-camera feeds, including the full public network of Transport for London's roadside cameras. It answers questions such as whether a subject's flight has actually departed, which vessel is alongside at a port, or what a junction looked like at a given hour, without waiting on a third party.

It is built on open-source foundations that we host, harden and extend ourselves, restyled and integrated into our operations, so the data we look at is never routed through someone else's account.

Evidence and case infrastructure (evidence handling)

Technology that produces evidence has to be as defensible as the evidence itself. Case material is held on infrastructure we run, not in a subscription case-management product with its own sub-processors. Access is need-to-know, exports are timestamped, and the platforms above write their own audit trails so that what was looked at, when and by whom can be shown rather than asserted.

Even the enquiry you send through this website lands in a system we wrote, is stored on our own database and is answered by an investigator, not a call centre. Web analytics are first-party and cookieless. We treat your first contact with the same discipline as your case file.

Do you use artificial intelligence in investigations?

Yes, as an analyst's assistant rather than as a witness. AI tools help our investigators triage large volumes of lawfully obtained material, spot patterns and draft summaries. Every finding that reaches a report is verified by a human investigator against the source, and no report relies on an AI output that cannot be traced back to evidence.

Is open-source intelligence legal in the UK?

Yes. OSINT draws on information that is publicly available or licensed for the purpose, and K3K processes it under a documented lawful basis as an ICO-registered data controller. What is not lawful is bypassing access controls, deceiving people into disclosing information, or buying stolen data, and we do none of it.

Where is my case data stored?

On infrastructure K3K controls, within the UK and European data-protection framework, not in a shared case-management product. Case material is need-to-know internally, and nothing is passed to a third party without your knowledge.

Can I watch my case live?

Where the case allows it, yes. Lawful tracking deployments can be shared with clients as live access on K3K Intelligence, and surveillance clients receive timestamped updates. Some cases are better served by a single, complete report; your investigator will say which.

Do you build technology for other organisations?

K3K Intelligence, our technology company, supplies its tracking and operations platform to fleets, asset owners and other professional users. Investigations clients benefit from the same platform without buying anything.

Why does an investigation agency build its own software?

Because rented tools are built for someone else's problem. Consumer tracker apps do not keep raw data for evidence, OSINT subscriptions log your subject's name on a vendor's servers, and case-management products come with sub-processors you have never heard of. Building our own gives us speed, control and a chain of custody we can actually demonstrate.
