Case Stories from K3K's Files

Anonymised case stories from K3K Investigations: matrimonial surveillance, workplace fraud, people tracing and romance scams — how real investigations unfold.

Every case below is anonymised: names, places and identifying details are changed, and several are composites drawn from more than one instruction. The methods, the sequence of decisions and the outcomes are real, because that is the part worth reading. We publish them because most people have no idea what actually happens when they instruct a private investigator — how long it takes, what the evidence looks like, what it costs, and how often the answer is not the one the client expected.

They also show the judgement calls. When we declined to hand over an address. When surveillance cleared someone who had been suspected for months. When the cheapest answer was to tell a client they did not need us. If you are weighing up whether to instruct an investigator, these will tell you more than any service page.

The Engineer on the Rig

An anonymised romance scam investigation: verifying an online partner who didn't exist, preserving the evidence, and stopping a £68,000 second act.

Three Thursdays in South London

An anonymised matrimonial surveillance case: how three Thursday evenings of lawful covert surveillance replaced eight months of doubt with certainty.

The Six-Month Bad Back

An anonymised workplace investigation: how three days of lawful surveillance ended a six-month sickness-absence fraud that HR could not touch.
